From the beginning of the war, his daughter became ill with a bad case of the flu and it kept lingering due to a lack of proper foods and no medicine. They lost their home to the bombing and needed a tent, but were not able to afford one. They were without shelter for a time. Now, their daughter Maria is starving, eating only greens that they find growing wild, what we would call "weeds."

She is very small, under two-years-old, and her parents worry about how this is affecting her. They want a normal life. Mohamed is hoping to leave Gaza with his wife, daughter, mother, brother and two sisters, as well as his uncle. Mohamed is one of the brave souls who goes out looking for animals to help, even among these difficult times. I believe he will be leaving his cats in the care of a trusted cousin of his, and sending aid whenever he can.
