All of his life, Waled, @LoverHomeless on Twitter, has been drawn to helping animals, often bringing home stray cats as a child. He has dedicated himself to helping homeless animals within Northern Gaza City. Now he needs help to leave with his family to seek safety from the bombing and gunfire. They have no food where they are and are surrounded by rubble on all sides. It is a scene of desolation. He is bringing his elderly parents, his wife, sister, and his children. His brother has decided to stay behind and care for the homeless cats. Waled will be bringing the blind cats with him. He was going to bring his dog, but his beloved pet sadly died in the bombing. Many of the cats they cared for have died as well as his best friends and many other people.
